The foundation of excursion tourism in Zvezdara municipality is based on two large forested areas – Zvezdara Forest and the northern part of Stepin Lug. Having such natural landscapes close to the wider city center is a true advantage, making Zvezdara municipality an ideal place for a weekend getaway, walking, or a relaxing picnic in nature.

Between the two World Wars, the Astronomical Observatory was built here, giving the area its name (Zvezdara – “place of stars”). Today, it remains one of the most interesting landmarks you can visit. Nearby is the Olimp Sports Center, offering various sports and recreational facilities, including renovated swimming pools with great views over Zvezdara and Voždovac. The famous boulevard, once known as Boulevard of Revolution and today Bulevar Kralja Aleksandra, has long been a shopping and social hub. Here you can also take a break in traditional pastry shops such as Bolonja or Bombaj.
